Always ahead of his time, Dr. Young pioneered one of the first In-Office Surgery Centers which specialized in cosmetic plastic surgery here in San Antonio, Texas. By utilizing his own surgery center, Dr. Young is able to provide safe, affordable, quality surgical procedures. His new Napier Park facility is the second AAAASF Certified Surgery Center built by Dr. Young. Everything in the design is built with our patients in mind.
Operating Rooms in Surgery Center
Dr. Young’s custom designed facility is a combination of Clinic, Surgical Center and Medical Day Spa. The Surgical Center offers a brand new Operating Rooms equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art equipment, Pre-Operative Rooms, a multi-bed Post-Operative Recovery Room, and Treatment Rooms for smaller procedures performed under local anesthesia. The office includes a half dozen consult and exam rooms, patient education rooms, pre-op exam and consult rooms, as well as a complete Medical Day Spa and Laser Center. All in one convenient location!
Our Post-Operative Recovery Room is designed to give you the very best in post-surgery care. Located right next to our nurses station, our staff of highly trained nurses are there to monitor and care for you following your surgery and while you prepare to leave for home. They provide home care instructions which include wound care, pain management, activity recommendations, as well as practical suggestions to ensure you have a successful recovery while in the comfort of your own home.
As surgery and recovery time generally is at least 2 hours or more, most who volunteer as “rides” prefer to drop off the patient, then go to do errands or get a meal while they await a call from our nurses to say that the patient is ready for pickup. It is very important for rides to keep a flexible schedule and be available at the Surgery Center as soon as you are notified.
The Surgery Center is a Class C facility certified to perform all types of anesthesia including local, regional and general. Your anesthesia is provided by a licensed M.D., Board Certified Anesthesiologist. (For more information about anesthesia, see our article.)
Plastic Surgery Offices
Hours of Operation
Our Office and Surgery Center is open Monday through Friday. Regular business hours are 9am to 5 pm, and this is the best time to phone us. The Surgery Center itself opens early in order to prepare for surgeries that start at 8am or earlier. The Surgery Center is a “Day Surgery” facility, and does not offer any overnight services. Home nursing care can be arranged for those who do not have family or friends to help attend to them following surgery. You can discuss this option with your Surgery Coordinator any time prior to your surgery.
Dr. Young operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday mornings until noon, and Fridays. Because Dr. Young’s Surgery Center is adjacent to his clinic offices, and are used only by DrYoungForever surgeons, we can offer the greatest flexibility in scheduling your surgery.
We allow only one person to accompany you on your day of surgery – the friend or relative you choose to bring you to your surgery and pick you up when you are released.
We urge all of our patients to make appropriate arrangements for childcare when you come on your surgery day, as children of any age are not allowed to accompany you.
Your cosmetic procedure is surgery, and our policies are very much like a hospital’s. Friends and family are not allowed to accompany you into our surgery Center. We respect that other patients will be in varying degree of undress, preparation, recovery, and/or care from the doctors and nurses. They need and deserve our staff’s undivided attention, as you do throughout your surgery. In addition, our OR areas are kept sterile in order to reduce the risk of infection to our patients. For these reasons, we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
