Laser Hair Removal
We have multiple state-of-the-art lasers especially for Laser Hair Removal. When dark, coarse hair appears in places that make you uncomfortable, it may be time to consider laser hair removal. This procedure is popular for women who have unwanted hair on their face, neck, abdomen, breasts, legs, or underarms, and for men with unwanted hair on their shoulders, chest, and back. The LightSheer diode laser is a state-of-the-art system specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, with less discomfort, and more reliably than IPL or other methods.
And, with our Sciton hair removal laser, we are able to treat darker skin types with excellent results. Older lasers could not treat darker skin types, but with this new technology, we can treat skin types I to 5, and even tanned skin. The laser selectively targets hair follicles and heats them with infrared energy. The unique laser is designed to target the follicle rather than the melanin in the skin. With each laser, you can expect to have five to six treatments approximately 6-8 weeks apart. There is little or no discomfort following the procedure.
We are proud to also offer treatment with SPLENDOR X by Lumenis. This innovative laser system takes advantage of Blend X technology, which combines multiple wavelengths to allow for optimal hair removal in the treatment area. It can be used on all skin types and tones and has a dual cooling system to ensure patient comfort.
Laser Resurfacing is the ultimate solution for improvement of wrinkles, acne scars, skin tone and texture in a single treatment. Traditional Laser Resurfacing is an ablative procedure that has downtime. There is often significant thermal damage to allow for collagen regrowth. We utilize a number of different lasers which are selected according to patient need, and the amount of downtime that the patient is willing to have. Laser Resurfacing is most often performed in Dr. Young’s Surgery Center, and is done under General Anesthesia.
Among our lasers are:
- Our newest, state-of-the-art Sciton Laser
- Sciton ProFractional Laser
- Erbium Laser
- CO2 Ultrasonic Laser
- Derma-K Laser (CO2 with Erbium)
SkinTyte™ Laser by Sciton
We’re excited to offer the latest in skin care technology with the addition of our new Sciton laser. This new laser offers exciting new non-invasive procedures. The treatment selectively targets dermal collagen to allow tightening of skin.
SkinTyte™ is an exciting new function of the Sciton laser, and one that is quickly becoming one of the most sought after non-surgical facial service. Designed to tighten skin by initiating the body’s own healing process and creating collagen, Skin Tyte™ is a series of five treatments we combine with BBL for skin tightening, sun damage, fine lines and winkles. While the effects of the BBL are seen quickly, the SkinTyte™ effects are seen several months following the treatments. Together, the effects are tighter, more youthful looking skin.
ProFractional™ Laser by Sciton
The complete solution for improvement of wrinkles, acne scars, skin tone and texture in a single treatment with no unnecessary thermal damage to allow for a virtually painless treatment. This can be combined with the MicroLaserPeel™ for enhanced results in one treatment.
Long downtimes of traditional Laser Resurfacing are no longer your only option. With the addition of ProFractional Laser Resurfacing and MicroLaserPeel Resurfacing, we are able to offer a wide range of resurfacing options to suit your needs and the amount of down-time you are willing to have. Sciton’s ProFractional Laser resurfaces a portion of the skin while leaving surrounding skin intact to promote rapid recovery. The areas of untreated skin invigorate the body’s natural healing process and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities. Downtime is anywhere from 1-3 days.
MicroLaserPeel™ by Sciton
This is commonly referred to as the ‘weekend peel’. With less downtime than ProFractional or traditional Laser Resurfacing, yet more aggressive than microdermabrasion, the MicroLaserPeel is an intraepidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin. The removal of these dead layers and the thin layers of the epidermis helps smooth the skin’s surface while blending pigmented age spots. This treatment is individualized, depending on the patient’s skin care concerns. This laser is effective in treating wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses, and pigmentary problems. The MicroLaserPeel procedure is effective on all skin types, and is the perfect treatment for those wanting more than a chemical peel or Microdermabrasion, but desire minimal downtime of just a few days.
BBL Skin Rejuvenation
BBL (broadband light) uses innovative technology that sets new standards for the treatment of skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage. BBL broadband light energy allows us to precisely treat fine lines and wrinkles, age and sun spots, as well as small facial veins and blemishes. We customize your treatment to match your skin’s condition and the results you’re hoping for. This is a gentle, non-invasive treatment, with no associated downtime. Any area of the body can be treated; most popular areas are face, neck, back of hands, chest and shoulders. Dr. Young and your technician will help decide whether BBL or IPL technologies would be most suitable for you.
IPL (intense pulsed light) uses pulsed light energy to precisely treat any fine wrinkles, age and sun spots, as well as small facial veins. During photorejuvenation, pulses of light are applied to the skin through the smooth, glass surface of the IPL hand piece. The process takes approximately 30 minutes, and 4 to 6 treatments are usually necessary for long-lasting results. After you receive IPL photorejuvenation, your skin will look years younger and feel much healthier. This is a gentle, non-invasive treatment, with no associated downtime. Any area of the body can be treated; most popular areas are face, neck, back of hands, chest and shoulders. Dr. Young and your technician will help decide whether BBL or IPL technologies would be most suitable for you.
