Facial fillers are very effective in helping to bring back volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. Most commonly, areas treated include nasiolabial folds (the folds running from the bottom corners of your nose outward towards the corners of your lips) and marionette lines (which run from the corners of your lips down to your jaw bone). They are commonly used as temporary lip enhancers, with injections being given in both the upper and lower lips, the lip ridge, and philtral columns (groove which runs from the bottom of your nose to mid upper lip). Fillers are also effective for areas that appear “hollow”, and are even used to fill imperfections caused by chicken pox scars and other irregularities.
Injectable fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Radiesse® and Juvederm® have effectively replaced collagen and other older injectables, offering a wide range of uses and longevity. Facial fillers can last from several months to a year, and are often combined with Botox® or Dysport® to help products last longer and create pleasing results.
