Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

If your backside has fallen flat as a result of the aging process, hormone changes, or has simply always appeared as such due to genetics, you don’t have to spend hours in the gym performing squats in an attempt to increase the size of your buttocks. At DrYoungForever in Shavano Park, TX, we offer the Brazilian Butt Lift, a procedure that can help you achieve the kind of buttocks that genetics simply didn’t give you.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Many different individuals will qualify as good candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift. This treatment provides an effective way for women from all different walks of life to enhance their backside and, in doing so, reach some of their body goals.

There are some important qualifications that will make you a good candidate for this treatment. As long as you are in good health and know what this treatment can and cannot do, you most likely will be a good candidate for the treatment process.

You Are in Good Health

One of the most important qualifications for any cosmetic treatment is that you are in good health. Being healthy will help you ensure that you achieve the best results so that you can enjoy them long-term. When you come in for your pre-treatment consultation, we will review your health history and ensure that you are free from any medical conditions that could affect your results or that could be exacerbated by this treatment.

You Are Not a Smoker

Not only is smoking detrimental to your overall health, but it also can negatively impact the results of cosmetic treatments, including a BBL. It’s important that patients who want to undergo this treatment are not smokers because smoking will negatively impact your results and keep you from experiencing all the benefits of this particular cosmetic treatment.

You Have a Small Buttocks

Some people simply have a smaller frame, and there’s nothing much to do about it because it’s simply genetics. If your buttocks are small, flat, or lack shape, this treatment can transform your backside and help you achieve better body proportions. While there are injectables, supplements, and other body-building pills and hormones that you can take to help enhance your muscles, you can’t take them to spot-treat the glute muscles.

Taking these supplements increases the size of other muscle groups as well. Not everyone wants to increase the size of the muscles on their entire bodies; some just want to increase the size of their buttocks, and thanks to the Brazilian Butt Lift, now you can, and you don’t need the gym to do it.

Your Diet and Exercise Routine Aren’t Delivering Results

Sometimes you can eat the right foods and do all the glute exercises in the world but still not increase the size of your buttocks, at least to the size that you want. Whether you’ve been trying out new diets or have been spending more time at the gym doing squats and hip thrusts in an attempt to improve the appearance of your buttocks, but it’s just not working, this procedure can do what your diet and workouts can’t.

You Have Enough Fat To Remove From a Donor Site

At our office, we use a fat transfer to perform the Brazilian Butt Lift. For that reason, to qualify for the treatment, you must have a specific donor site with enough stubborn fat cells that you want to improve and remove to use for your fat transfer. Those who don’t have enough stubborn fat to remove from a donor site will not be able to successfully undergo this treatment, but we can make recommendations about alternative options.

You Have Realistic Expectations About the Treatment Results

This form of a Brazilian Butt Lift uses a fat transfer to deliver results; it doesn’t use an implant. It’s important to understand that while this treatment will increase your buttocks’ size, proportions, and volume, it will also look completely natural. You won’t achieve the exaggerated results that come from the insertion of an implant. Knowing this ahead of time is important because it will help you stay realistic about your results.

You Are Willing to Commit to the Process

This treatment is minimally invasive, but it does require a recovery period, and it’s important that you’re willing to commit to the recovery process. Following the aftercare, directions are critical to achieving the best possible outcome, so it’s important that you commit to following the surgeon’s orders post-treatment. Following the directives and recommendations of Dr. Young will make a significant difference in how your results look post-treatment.

How Does a Brazilian Butt Lift Work?

Our BBL qualifies as an outpatient procedure and involves the use of general anesthesia to help maintain the patient’s comfort throughout the process. At DrYoungForever, we perform the BBL with a fat transfer. A fat transfer is a procedure that involves the use of liposuction, a fat-removal procedure, to remove unwanted fat cells from a specific body area.

Utilizing Stubborn Fat Cells

This area is called a donor site, but it’s also an area defined by pockets of stubborn fat that won’t respond to your diet and fitness efforts. The benefit of this particular BBL is that it gives you the best of both worlds.

It eliminates stubborn fat from a problem area and uses it to enhance the appearance of your buttocks at the same time. The most common donor sites used during the procedure include the thighs, abdomen, or hips. Dr. Young will sculpt your problem area during the fat removal procedure to create the best possible contours.

Preparing and Injecting the Donor Fat Cells

Once liposuction is performed to remove the donor fat cells from your target area, those cells will be carefully purified and examined to ensure that only healthy and viable cells are used during your BBL. Then, those fat cells will be put in an injectable form and injected into specific areas of the buttocks to help improve the size, shape, and proportions. Typically, Dr. Young injects the fat cells into the upper quadrant of the buttocks to help create a lifted appearance.

Your Recovery

As soon as your procedure is complete, you will immediately begin wearing a compression garment. This garment is essential to your healing because it allows for a quick and healthy recovery—plan on taking anywhere from one to two weeks off of work to rest and recover.

You will be advised to get plenty of rest to promote healing and recovery and should have someone who can help you with normal household duties for the first several days. We will provide you with details on how long you should avoid your normal daily activities and when you can get back to your daily life.

Your Results

After your treatment, you can expect to achieve more rounded and tighter-looking buttocks. Additionally, your donor area that may have been one of your worst problem areas will appear slimmer and more defined. As you heal, you will continue to see improvements in the appearance of your buttocks. Once your final results are evident, you can maintain them long-term as long as you maintain a healthy weight and live a healthy lifestyle.

How To Maintain Your Results

Significant weight loss will affect the fat cells that have been injected into your buttocks. Weight loss causes fat cells to shrink down, so there’s no guarantee that if you do lose a significant amount of weight post-op that it won’t affect the appearance of your buttocks.

Additionally, significant weight gain after the procedure will negatively impact your liposuction results in the donor area. Following a healthy lifestyle, eating a healthy diet, and exercising consistently while maintaining a stable weight will all work together to ensure that your BBL results are long-lasting.

What Are the Benefits?

Patients love this procedure because it offers so many different benefits. First, it can help transform small or flat buttocks and make them appear more defined and have the most aesthetically pleasing shape and proportions. It can also help you reach two of your body goals at once by improving the size of your buttocks and contouring a specific problem area that’s always been defined by stubborn fat cells.

Experience the Benefits of a BBL

Life is too short not to reach your body goals, and enjoy the confidence that comes with having an improved silhouette. The BBL can help improve your confidence, your self-image, and your backside. Contact us today at DrYoungForever in Shavano Park, TX, to learn more about this procedure and see if you qualify as a good candidate.
